14th Annual Gray's Reef Film Festival
February 2-5, 2017, The Trustees and Tybee Post Theaters, Savannah, GA
Our Community, Our Ocean

Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary and Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary Foundation present the 14th annual Gray’s Reef Film Festival February 2-5, 2017.

Last year 1,700 attendees and sponsors contributed over $25,000 in support of our ocean and Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. This year we have expanded the festival and expect to exceed both of those numbers.

The 2017 festival will, once again, feature an exciting film lineup to inspire ocean stewardship and conservation, including two full nights of 3D films.  We also anticipate a larger Founder’s Party which, will again be held at 24e on Thursday, February 2.  If the techno-gods are with us, guests will be amazed and delighted by the virtual reality experience we have planned for them.

Friday and Saturday nights will both feature 3D explorations of the underwater world. Saturday will feature the awards for the Emerging Filmmakers and be capped by a celebratory After Party for sponsors, filmmakers, and attendees at 45 Bistro where all will enjoy a delightful selection of lite bites and sweet treats.

Sunday brings another new addition—a matinee at the Tybee Post Theater featuring films from the San Francisco International Ocean Film

Festival. Tybee Island has a strong connection to the ocean and it’s a great spot for the Gray’s Reef Film Festival wrap up, including a wrap party at the North Beach Bar &

Grill. Recognizing that some Chatham County students have never seen the ocean, we have decided to substantially expand on last year’s children’s program. This year we will en able more than 500 students from Savannah, and over 120 from Tybee Island, to experience the beauty and wonder of our oceans!

Current sponsors include Peeples Industries, Connect Savannah, 24e, Visit Savannah, Thrive Catering, South Magazine, 45 Bistro, North Beach Bar & Grill, Savannah Magazine, and some of Savannah’s leading citizens. Sponsorship opportunities are still available, contact  Vicki Weeks, [email protected].
